AirCheq® Canairy

Know what you breathe

The air you breathe every day affects how comfortable and healthy your home is. The Canairy makes indoor air quality easy to see, so you know at a glance when all is well or when it is time to air the room. With the Home Plus you also get insight into fine dust and pollen outdoors.

No app. No account. No subscription. Plug it in and you are done.

Nothing wrong with the air

All values are within the norm. The ventilation is doing its job and you don't need to do anything.

Canairy with a green screen

A canary that watches over your air

Miners once took a canary down the mine to warn them of dangerous air. As long as the canary stayed healthy and lively, they knew the air was safe.

We have brought that simple principle back to life. The canary on the Canairy’s screen responds to the air quality in your home. If the air gets worse, you see it straight away.

No complicated graphs or numbers. One glance at the Canairy is enough.

See at a glance how the air is doing

Since 2007 we have been measuring air quality at thousands of locations, including schools, childcare centres and healthcare facilities.

There we learned that clear information works best. That is why the Canairy shows air quality with a recognisable canary on the screen. From the canary’s colour and behaviour you can see at once how the air is doing and when it is time to ventilate.

  • Green? The air is good.
  • Yellow? Time to let in some fresh air.
  • Orange? Ventilate more.
  • Purple? Time to take action.
The Canairy in green, yellow, orange and purpleLook, don't calculate

Green is good, yellow means air the room, orange means ventilate, purple means act. The numbers are there, but you don't need them.

European sensors, reliable readings

A good air quality monitor starts with good sensors. That is why we choose a specialised manufacturer for every measurement, such as Senseair from Sweden and Sensirion from Switzerland.

With the Canairy you bring industrial-grade European sensor technology into your home. Built to measure reliably for years, so you have insight into the air around you every day.

The humidity sensor found in millions of professional climate systems. Stable, fast and small. Temperature is measured by a separate NTC sensor.

For fine dust we deliberately chose the Cubic PM2012 with laser scattering: the most stable sensor in its class for long-term use.

Six readings, always up to date

The Canairy measures every fifteen seconds and shows the current values on the screen straight away. Below you can read what each reading means and what it tells you about the air in your home.

1Carbon dioxide

Better focus

CO2 scale

  • up to 800 ppm: good air
  • 800 to 1,200 ppm: time to let in air
  • 1,200 to 3,400 ppm: ventilate more
  • above 3,400 ppm: take action now

2Temperature

Sleep better

Recommended, not colour-coded on the screen

  • Living room: 19 to 22 °C
  • Bedroom: 16 to 18 °C, for a good night’s sleep

3Humidity

Prevent mould

Guideline, not colour-coded on the screen

  • 30 to 60 %: healthy air
  • below 30 %: dry air, can cause discomfort
  • above 60 %: damp, risk of mould and dust mites

4Fine dust indoors

Breathe easier

PM2.5, WHO guideline 2021

  • up to 15 µg/m³: good
  • 15 to 35 µg/m³: elevated, ventilate and find the source
  • above 35 µg/m³: poor, act now

5Fine dust outdoorsPlus

Ventilate wisely

Outdoor air at your postcode, source RIVM

  • up to 15 µg/m³: clean, airing is fine
  • 15 to 35 µg/m³: elevated, air briefly
  • above 35 µg/m³: poor, keep windows closed

6PollenPlus

Prevent hay fever

Pollen level, source Open-Meteo

  • 1 and 2: low, few complaints
  • 3: moderate, be alert
  • 4 and 5: high, keep windows closed

56 only on the Home Plus, via wifi and your postcode. The Home Plus also measures the VOC and NOx index indoors.

All readings as numbers

Prefer to see the figures? Then choose the view on the Canairy that shows all readings as numbers. That way you have every measurement clearly together on one screen.

Dark display of the Canairy Home Plus: CO2 579 ppm in green, temperature and humidity on the right, along the bottom fine dust 120 in red, VOC index 200 in orange and NOx index 1

Different views, one tap

With the arrow at the bottom of the screen you switch views with a single tap. Choose what suits you: the canary for the living room, a light and clear screen for the kitchen, or a calm, dark view for the bedroom.

Thanks to the light sensor the screen dims automatically as it gets darker, so it stays pleasant to look at in the evening too.

Want to know what the air outside is like too?

Connect the Home Plus to your wifi network. The device then retrieves information about fine dust and pollen in your area. Your own readings stay on the Home Plus and are never sent anywhere.

How was the air last night?

The Canairy keeps the readings of the past days. So you can see, for example, what the air in your bedroom was like while you slept. You look back easily on the screen, without an app, internet connection or subscription.

Your Canairy gets company

Does the air quality stay good for four hours? Then a tree appears on the screen and your Canairy is joined by two little ones. A cheerful reward for fresh air at home.

One cable, nothing else

Hang the Canairy on the wall or place it on a table with the supplied stand. The openings on the side let the air reach the sensors.
