Privacy statement
This statement covers aircheq.com and the web shop on this site. Last updated on 11 September 2026. This is a translation of the Dutch statement; in the event of any discrepancy, the Dutch text prevails.
The short version
The Canairy measures the air, not you. All readings stay on the device and are not sent to us or to anyone else. Through this website we only process data you email to us yourself or enter in the web shop or when ordering, and we set no cookies.
Who is responsible
AirTeq B.V.
Pascalweg 2a, 4104 BG Culemborg, the Netherlands

If you have a question about your data, email support@airteq.eu. We have not appointed a data protection officer.
The Canairy itself
The sensor stores its readings locally only, the last 10,000 readings. That data does not leave the device. There is no account, no app and no cloud connection.
If you switch on Wi-Fi to see the pollen level and the outdoor air quality, the device retrieves that data from external sources based on the postcode you have set yourself. In doing so, your postcode and your IP address become visible to the party supplying the data. Your own readings are still not sent.
Sources for the outdoor values: the Dutch national air quality monitoring network (RIVM Luchtmeetnet) for fine dust and Open-Meteo for the pollen forecast.
Contact by email or phone
If you email or call us, we process your name, your email address or phone number and the content of your message. We use that data only to answer your question.
- Legal basis: performance of a contract or, for a general enquiry, our legitimate interest in responding (art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
- Retention period: two years after the last contact.
Visitor statistics and logs
We do not use an analytics tool and we set no cookies. Like every web server, our hosting provider briefly keeps a log with the IP address, the time and the page requested. We use that only to trace faults and abuse.
Ordering
If you order in the web shop on this site, we process your name, address, email address, phone number (if you provide it), your order and the payment status in order to carry out, deliver and invoice your order. Legal basis: performance of the contract (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our statutory record-keeping obligation. Payment is processed by Mollie B.V.; we receive only the payment status and a payment reference, not full payment details. Your order data is transmitted encrypted and stored on the server outside the web folder, accessible only to staff handling the order.
We keep invoices and accounting records for seven years, because the Dutch tax retention obligation requires us to (art. 52 General Tax Act).
Who else processes your data
- SiteGround, website hosting, data centre Amsterdam.
- Mollie B.V., payment processing, the Netherlands.
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS), sending order confirmations, European Union.
- PostNL, delivery of orders.
Data processing agreements are in place with these parties. We do not sell your data and do not transfer it outside the European Economic Area.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing and to data portability. You may also object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
Send your request to support@airteq.eu. We respond within one month. If you disagree with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the supervisory authority in your own country.
Security
The website runs over a secure connection and access to our systems is limited to staff who need the data for their work.
Changes
If anything changes in the way we process data, we update this statement. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
